Skin Color String in Acrylics
This strip was created during a demonstration on Portraiture, and will work with Oils and Pastels also. Watercolors? Haven't tried it, but it just may work on that too, but do not use white paint, and of course watercolor paint should be mixed with water.
This should take the mystery out of mixing skin tone colors. You can either mix the colors on your palette, or scumble colors over the base color (Watercolorists should layer colors, drying layers in between). The Base Color is the first color mentioned, which also is the larger portion of paint added to the mix.
You may get slightly different results, as different brands have different amounts of pigment. Experiment, have fun, and perhaps you will find a formula that is perfect for you!
